Knowledge You Trust, Progress You Can See & Feel

Megan's Philosophy

At Megan Fischer Dressage, our philosophy is rooted in putting the horse’s wellbeing first and developing each horse through balance, clarity, and correct biomechanics. When horses feel understood in both body and mind, they move with confidence and ease — and genuine partnership can flourish. We aim to create horses who feel proud in their work and riders who communicate with quiet precision, feel, and empathy.

Every horse and rider is guided as an individual, with training tailored to their physical strengths, learning style, and long-term goals. With decades of experience producing horses and riders through the FEI levels and mentorship from respected educators, Megan approaches development with patience, intention, and high standards. Our priority is lasting soundness, quiet confidence, and harmony that stands the test of time — in and out of the arena.

How Megan Supports Horse & Rider

What sets Megan apart isn’t simply her experience in the saddle — it’s her ability to understand the horse beneath it. Drawing from decades of education under respected instructors and a foundation rooted in biomechanics and ethical training.

Megan brings clarity, patience, and feel to every ride. She meets each horse and rider where they are, developing balance, confidence, and understanding so progress unfolds with harmony and long-term soundness.

Movement becomes real when horse and rider listen to each other.

The Heart Behind the Program

Get to know Megan and the core values that shape her training and mentorship.

With a lifelong devotion to dressage and a foundation shaped by some of the most respected educators in the sport, Megan Fischer brings a unique combination of feel, knowledge, and quiet depth to every horse she develops. Introduced to thoughtful horsemanship at a young age, Megan’s early riding was influenced by Dr. Hilary Clayton and guided by Maryal Barnett starting at age eight. Those formative years fostered a deep appreciation for rider biomechanics, equine balance, and ethical training — values that would guide her entire career. Over the decades, Megan continued refining her craft under respected instructors including Major Anders Lindgren, Sally Swift, Max Gahwyaler, Pierre St. Jacques, and, most recently, Herwig Radnetter of the Spanish Riding School.

Megan’s journey is defined not by flash, but by consistency, education, and an unwavering commitment to doing right by the horse. A USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist, she has competed in more than 250 competitions on over 30 different horses, producing numerous horses and riders through the FEI levels. Her approach centers on balance, understanding, and communication — developing horses who feel confident in their bodies and riders who learn correct feel, timing, and clarity. Whether guiding a young warmblood or helping an amateur rider find harmony in the saddle, Megan is known for her calm presence, perceptive eye, and ability to translate complex concepts into clear, supportive guidance.

Today, Megan offers a training environment where horses and riders are developed with intention, empathy, and a deep respect for the learning process. Her program emphasizes patience, biomechanically-sound development, and long-term soundness — creating partnerships that are confident, capable, and genuinely connected. Riders who train with Megan value her thoughtful communication, honest feedback, and capacity to bring out each horse’s natural willingness and expression, ensuring progress that is both meaningful and sustainable.
